
Business Developer
Ecosmic is advancing Space Domain Awareness, making sure that satellite can navigate safely. Our first software solution SAFE helps satellite operators gain insights on the risk of collision for their assets. Our vision is to revolutionise the way space software is done to propel us towards the future of space exploration.
We are a high-tech, data-driven company with an international team of space engineers and computer scientists. Founded in 2023 in the Netherlands, we opened our Italian HQ and raised €1.1M in 2024. We launched SAFE 5 months ago and signed many partnerships since.

We are now looking for a driven Business Developer to establish our presence on the market. This position is for an engineer-turned-business-thinker — someone who can speak the language of both product and business, and enjoys making tech make sense to others.
This position is based in Italy and full-remote.

What You’ll Do
From the start, a Business Developer’s day in Ecosmic will look like a mix of these tasks:
Initiating conversations, building and maintaining relationships with potential customers through emails, LinkedIn and in-person events. Target to engage with new prospects on a weekly basis.
Create and adapt sales material (Excel, PowerPoint, Canva), and draft LinkedIn posts.
Produce targeted documentation and messages adapting the narrative and tone for each audience.
Keep the CRM (Attio) clean and updated, run weekly sales routines.
Research companies and stakeholders, understand organisational structures identifying decision-makers, and flag key insights to the team.
Share clear updates with the team, keeping yourself on top of the news and industry reports.
Support in bid management for international grants, calls and consortia.
Organise all travel logistics and prepare briefs for client meetings.
Occasionally represent the company at conferences and events.
As you grow into the role, it will expand into:
Investing time in meeting people and nurturing your network.
Supporting in negotiating and closing deals.
Adopting a customer-first approach, listening to customer needs and adjusting strategies accordingly (understanding where the real problems are is at the root of what we do).
Optimising the marketing strategy and growing our brand awareness. Help us get our name out there.
Who You Are
You are proficient in English. Fluency in spoken and written English is an absolute must.
You have a MSc in Space Engineering AND/OR you have experience in the Space Industry.
You are proactive and highly motivated. You work well with minimal oversight in critical, fast-paced situations where a good responsiveness is required (e.g. crowded events, customer meetings).
You have strong communication skills and you are flexible in adapting to real-time feedback during discussions.
You have deep interpersonal skills to build on relationships that are characterised by a high degree of transparency and trust.
Preferably:
You are up to date with what is happening in the space sector.
You can demonstrate that you are able to build and maintain a strong network.
You have international study/work experience and an international mindset (e.g. you have the ability to navigate multicultural environments).

Competitive pay: the estimated salary range for this position is €32,000 - €35,000/year. Discover more about the cost of living in Turin and about Italian taxation. The total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills. As you increase your impact in Ecosmic, compensation can grow rapidly. On top of the salary, we also include €1,000/year (net) of welfare.
